For using the Transfer Money facility, you need to have:
A current account with ICICI Bank Hong Kong Branch (“Bank”) with Internet banking access and Your mobile number registered with the Bank. If the above requirements are complied with, you would be able to use the facility subject to applicable Terms and Conditions.
Simply login to online banking and follow these steps:
- Go to the ‘Transfer Money’ section of online banking
- Click on ‘Manage Payee’ and click on ‘Add Internal Payee / Add External Payee’.
- Make sure you complete the payee details with the payee name, Bank code, Branch code, account number, currency as it appears on their bank account.
- Click on ‘Submit’ to submit the details and a one-time password (OTP) will be sent Bank to your registered mobile number via SMS. Please note that your one-time password (OTP) will be valid only for 100 seconds. The OTP will be a six-digit number.
- Enter the OTP you have received on the next page and click on ‘Confirm’.
- If you have entered the correct OTP, the payee will be registered instantly.
- If you have entered the wrong OTP thrice, the payee registration will be cancelled and you have to re-initiate the payee registration.
- If you did not receive the OTP via SMS on your registered mobile number within 100 seconds, please click on “Generate OTP” button to re-generate the OTP.

To set up a Scheduled transfer, please follow these steps:
- Log on to internet banking, click 'Transfer Money' and select ‘Funds Transfer'
- Click on ‘Within ICICI Bank Hong Kong Branch’ / ‘Outside ICICI Hong Kong Branch within Hong Kong’
- Select From account, To account, Transaction amount, Remarks and select the Type of payment as ‘Scheduled’
- Select the payment date at which you wish to make your transfer. The payment date should be no earlier than the next day’s date & the payment date can be set only upto 60 days from date of request.
- As this is only one time transfer the frequency need not be selected.
- Click 'Submit'
- Check the details of your Transfer and click 'Confirm’
- A Scheduled transfer ID number will be generated. You can use this number to track and manage your Scheduled transfers on the ‘View or Cancel your one-time scheduled payments’ option in ‘Manage Transfers’ tab.
There is no limit to the number of scheduled transfers that you can set. However, the amount that can be transferred in a day is subject to the daily funds transfer limits.
However, for Scheduled transfers, the payment date can be set upto 60 days from date of request. i.e payment date should never exceed 60 days from the date of request; E.g.: If 02/06/2011 is date of request,
The daily transaction limit per customer per day is HKD 500,000 for HKD Current account and USD 100,000 for USD Current account.
Bank may at any time change the overall operational limits at its own discretion.
If you need to send money to India on a regular basis, you can set up a recurring Transfer. A recurring Transfer is an order you give the Bank to transfer a set amount at regular intervals. Also, for recurring transfers, first recurring transfer payment date should be within 60 days from date of request, post which recurring tranfers can be set upto one year.
To set up a Recurring transfer, please follow these steps:
- Log on to internet banking, click 'Transfer Money' and select ‘Funds Transfer'
- Click on ‘Within ICICI Bank Hong Kong Branch’ / ‘Outside ICICI Hong Kong Branch within Hong Kong’
- Select From account, To account, Transaction amount, Remarks and select the Type of payment as ‘Recurring’
- Select the payment date at which you wish to make your transfers. The payment date should be no earlier than the next day’s date
- Select Frequency at which the money must be transferred; and Number of payments to be made (including the first transfer due to be processed on start date).
- As this is only one time transfer the frequency need not be selected.
- Click 'Submit'
- Check the details of your Transfer and click 'Confirm’
- A Recurring Transfer ID number will be generated. You can use this number to track and manage your recurring Transfers on the ‘View or Cancel recurring payments’ option in ‘Manage Transfers’ tab in ‘Transfer Money’ page.
The different frequencies available for Standing Transfers are:
- Weekly
- Monthly
The next due date under each frequency will be calculated as below:
- Weekly - Next due date will be calculated as the 7th day from the last due date e.g. recurring Transfer set on a 30/01/2011(working day), would have as due dates: 30/01/2011, 06/02/2011, 13/02/2011,20/02/2011, 27/02/2011, 06/03/2011(excluding leap years – in case of leap year the next due date would be 05/03/2011).
- Monthly – Next due date would be the same date of the following month e.g. recurring Transfer set on 10/01/2011(working day), would have as due dates: 10/02/2011, 10/03/2011 etc. Recurring Transfer set on 31/01/2011 will have due dates as 31/01/2011, 28/02/2011, 31/03/2011, 30/04/2011 etc.
Transfer requests submitted prior to12:00 noon HKT will be processed on same day, how-ever credit to payee’s account will happen subject to transfer regulations defined by the payee’s bank.
Transfer requests submitted after 12:00 noon HKT will processed on next working day.
